DO set out with clear goals, i.e. save on cleaning, reduce costs etc
DO recognise that different building types have specific cleaning requirements
DON’T assume that the same specification and cleaning contractor will suit all building types
DO be sure that the cleaning contractor you select is experienced and capable of supplying your particular cleaning needs
DO think carefully about selecting a contractor whose management base is more than two hours traveling time from your location.
DO consider the merits of input versus output specification
DO investigate the capabilities of the cleaning supervisor offered by the provider and assess whether they are sufficiently proactive to manage an output specification
DO understand a cleaning organisations policy on materials and how it might have an impact on your environmental impact as a business, both positively and negatively.
DON’T solely decide who to use based on potential saving or reduction
in cost. You must evaluate like for like on service.
